Need advise on how to make my 5 year old child be good.?

Jeudi, juillet 31st, 2008

You should first decide what behaviors you are most wanting to encourage. Then sit down with your child and make a list. Do it with her.
Then decide on what rewards you can offer her as incentives (ie. stickers, colouring books - I use mainly stationery instead of edibles, but you can use edibles if you choose to).
Make a chart and put it on the fridge where she can see it.
Each day, sit down together and reward her for the things she has accomplished.
In the beginning you will need to reward instantly. Then start delayed gratification after she has done some things right.
The secret is to catch her doing things right.
I know, sometimes it can be really hard. But as soon as you see something great, pounce on it immediately, before she has a chance to do something naughty.
Then you need to persevere with this. Stick with it for a month at least. Talk to her for a couple of minutes every day and tell her how wonderful she is for all the good things she has done that particular day.
Tell her that she should be proud of her behavior (in preference to you being proud of her). Ultimately, we want our kids to achieve in life for their own self not for us.
Good luck.

Mona dear: scientists use meter sticks, thermometers and other measuring devises to record and observe changes, and come up with a conclusion. For example if a child has a fever, parents may take temp. and make a note of it ( what’s the reading at that time). Then, after giving medication, they would periodically take additional temp. readings and make a note, compare it to the first reading (before the mediation was given) and conclude whether the medication is being effective. That’s how scientists do their work too. They run experiments on substances, people, animals, plants, record the original status by taking a reading by thermometers, and / or other meter sticks, introduce a change ( drug, time, temp., etc.)and then measure again over time to see the effects of the change they introduced. So……., to sum it all up, it’s for comparison sake (before /after) so they can observe and record the changes occurred. Hope this is helpful.

What is the best way to help my 5 yr old to study her vocab words? Words like-Is, that,or,is thank for any hlp

Mardi, juillet 29th, 2008

These are basic sight words that a child will see all the time as they begin reading. That’s why it’s important to learn them, but every child learns differently, and 5 is a young age to be “studying.” Make it fun, and vary it as much as possible. Read to her frequently. At first, when you see one of her sight words in the story, point it out to her. “Oh look, I see the word is on this page.” and point to it. After a few days, tell her you see the word “is” on this page and ask her to find it. If she has difficulty finding it, show her which line it is on to help her be successful at locating the word. Write silly sentences, leaving out the target word. “Mary___ silly.” Read the sentence to her inserting the missing word, and say, Oh silly me, I forgot to write “is.” Here’s the marker, you fill it in for me! She will probably love this game. Having the words available on index cards will give her something to copy to help her. If she enjoys “silly,” you can make it funnier by inserting the wrong word (just place the wrong index card there and laugh and ask her to find the right word.

These activities will make the words more concrete and meaningful to her, and so she will retain more of what she learns.

Bountiful/North Salt Lake City, Utah. I’m in the North Salt Lake City Congregation and we share our Hall with Bountiful and the only ASL Congregation in Utah, as well as the Spanish. If you are looking to serve where the need is great then here we are. We have publishers and pioneers come from other states to help us work our territory occasionally.
Utah has always had a huge territory and there are areas that have not been covered in a couple of years. We just had the ASL become their own congregation after being part of ours for the last few years. The territory is vast and varied, though the predominant religion is Mormon and they can be apathetic, and they use the Book of Mormon as their new testament of Jesus. The Spanish congregations are ever increasing with new ones, here as well. We also have a lot of immigrant communities and foreign languages are also needed. Bosnian, Vietnamese, ect. Because Utah is so College oriented with a lot of students from all over the place you can find a wide assortment of people to talk to.
Be prepared for the sudden changes in weather. We can get all four seasons in the same month sometimes. Beautiful though as we are surrounded by mountains.
Would love to have you come visit and see for yourself, how great the need is. Agape’ your sister, Tirshatha

EDIT: Hey NO THUMBS DOWN to those that are not Witnesses responding here they are just sharing their good wishes (which can be rare these days), and who knows if what they see here will lead them to learn more about our Loving God Jehovah and one day become our dear brother or sister, serving along side us in the territory.

So while we do not celebrate Christmas, to those of you that wished us a good one, we do accept Jesus as our ruling King, and I appreciate your sincere kind wishes. Have a good day, Everyone.

Additional: Glad to hear back from you, and to the one below me , come visit some time, we could use more to cover the ASL territorry.

What do you think of the name Adeline Faith and Declan James?

Dimanche, juillet 27th, 2008

I love both names, though I do prefer the -line or -leen ending pronunciation of Adeline. Still, -lyn is a valid pronunciation, and I find your Adeline spelling the most appealing, regardless of how you prefer it said. No reason to change it! ;)
And for what it’s worth, it’s the nickname Addy (any spelling) that’s overly common at the moment. Not the given name Adeline, which is barely in the top 500! ;) Especially considering Addison’s unprecedented leap in last year’s numbers (likely top ten this year). If it doesn’t concern you, all well and good, but even if it does, the simple solution is to just use a different, less common nickname. Ada, Adele, Dell, Della, Lynn, etc. No big deal.

As to the boy option, Declan James is a very handsome name, in full. ;) Declan is slightly more common, at 364, but it actually SEEMS even less so, given the fact that it doesn’t happen to share a nickname with a more popular name and that boys in general are given common names far more often (making those that aren’t quite as popular come across as even less so, if you follow).

Both great choices, and I think you have nothing to worry about. ;)

IBS sufferers only?

Samedi, juillet 26th, 2008

This is not a diagnosis made without eliminating specific organic diseases like celiac or inflammatory bowel disease. These should be ruled out first with imaging and endoscopy with histology. Of course these are expensive tests, and without insurance he may well have jumped to the least problematic option.

You should demand a second opinion and another doctor.

As for the sounds, they are called borborygmi. The noise is made by movement of the bowel contents and gas through the intestine. If that is the worst problem you have, then you are lucky. It does suggest that you have an intestinal infection or bacterial overgrowth, so a course of antibiotics should be tried. Consider Xifaxan, which has been shown to be effective at reducing symptoms of IBS as well as knocking down bacterial overgrowth.

For assistance getting medications, contact PPARx.org. They may be able to get you free or reduced cost medications.

how can we make people consious about corruption?

Vendredi, juillet 25th, 2008

Friend..corruption is base of govt.
Defination of Corruption :
“PURCHASE YOUR OWN MISTAKE FROM AUTHORISED OFFICER WITH LEGAL WAY, BY PAYING MONEY OR USING CREDIT.” - Bhuvnesh Joshi
Defination of Advocate : ” A Legal Brocker of Corruption.”
- Bhuvnesh Joshi

By this way peopal has made RULES to JOCKES.
Every one wants to RULE bt no one is in mood to follow the RULES.
More rule more corruprion, no rule no curruption…

Friend..
I want to say that..If anyone doing corruption..He should have his own rules to do corruption..
it should harmless, Helpfull, easy, fastet, for every one, etc all good kind.. If some one wants to do corruption..Let them do it.
It should be benefitial to everyone…It not should be oneway..

It means accept d corruption in legal way,
Today the corruption is reducing in suchway, becoz the govt. is trying to pay more (similar to one civilion pay him/her as a corruption charge) to govt employee, by this way The employee thinks that, If govt paying equals to corruption charge. then why they do corruption? means to day traffic police, gets 50 rs. and gives u reciept of ur case. Means pay legaly and get benefit.

Here the money is conducting by govt, and same benefit geting all - govt., employee and civilian…all

by this way all are happy…

simplly made corruption legally..
pay to govt. directlly. to avail the benefit.

might this could be possible at sucha way..but..everything is possible by transforming the matter..
